and I made the egusi soup i had been craving!!!
actually, i don't really eat egusi soup.....i can count the number of times i have eaten egusi soup......i usually only like it when i make it..or one of my aunties make it..........it used to be my worst soup.... ah well....... but homegurl made some last nite!!! woohooo!!!! and i put my foot in it!!! like 4reals mehn!!! i should start some form of mama-put bizzness oh...kai!!!!! *fans herself*.....lol.... *i am weird*
my friend seems to think that i love the kitchen a bit too much..according to her "u like to cook....evry small thing...cook cook cook cook cook!! shuo!!! ur boyfriend go fat oh!!!".......lol
u cant blame me..... i have an affinity for the kitchen...lol
eh heh......so where was I? ...eh heh...so i went to the african store oh..... I cant believe how much i spent there..kai!!! next time....i'll leave my bank card at home...so i wont be tempted to over-buy...
some things i bought.. :)
OK......so those are a few of the things i bought... :) (can't upload all....)
and then my egusi soup.... :)
the smoked turkey and oxtail boiling with the spices, onions ..etc
after i added the fried mixture (egusi, tomato, pepper and palm oil) ... :)
after letting it cook for some 10-15 mins, then added the vegetables and some extra spices... :)
:) food don ready oh...... and of course some vita malt to wash it down..or if ur liver reach.... small stout... lol
the rest goes in the fridge for another day... :)yay!!!! welcome to AUNTY IPHY'S SPECIAL BUKKATERIA

@leggy.... mehn i got it from this african store called africarib, i don't kno if its just here in TX or everywhere...but abacha is in most african stores in the east coast, i saw some in the african store when i was staying in jersey (am guessing thats where u are or somewhere nearby)
@nwanyi.... nwannem....i kno right..they grind everything...but the ugu wasnt ground....it was fresh....atually they put it in a bag filled with water and then froze it...the same way they do the periwinkle... but because its so small (and vegetables get smaller after u cook them) i didnt use the ugu for the egusi...i am saving it for some correct edikanikong soup, what i used for the egusi is collard greens....and it was very similar to the ugu(in taste)...:)
