YORUBA 506 (KI'LA'A'SI YORUBA)

ahhhhhhhhh...don't you just love fall????
summer is slowly fading away...and YES!! as much as I love summer..living in texas can make u hate summer sometimes especially if u sweat in all other parts of ur body apart from ur face, neck, arms, legs..... meaning u sweat in some regions that are *clears throat* not exactly comfortable to sweat in....... *embarrassed face* and i know wats going thru ur mind "chai...this gurl u are gross...so u sweat in places like......" biko spare me.........shuo...it aint my fault that my body is quick to get rid of urea and whatever is in sweat........ hehe

so yea...as i was saying....falll is great...fall shooping..woohoo!!!! i just want like 12 colors of nice soft comfy boots!! and of course some scarves, nice soft sweaters, ahhhh........ FALL!!

kai!! sometimes wen it rains and gets chilly...like it did yesterday and today, i just wanna curl up with a huggy cuddle buddy and just talk for hours....but as i no come get cuddle buddy wetin i go do na??? just hold my pillow tight as a substitute for strong, warm, nice, muscular arms...lol

Iphy's goals for the rest of the year
1. find cuddle buddy ...or maybe an official bobo.... :)
2.find cuddle buddy
3.find cuddle buddy
4.if cuddle buddy is not found, walk up to random guys and hug them breast to breast, hold on tight, then just walk away like nothing happened.. (btw i did that on monday....I AM WEIRD)
5.if boy that u hug-rape hugs u bak and holds u tight.... u might wanna give him a peck just for the heck of it.....
6. check for signs of the flu before hugging random guys...... meaning..u have to begin to scope them from afar before u actually become creepy and hug them and walk away......

so i was in Yoruba class today and my professor asks me "kini o fe?" (what do u want?) and i say "Mo fe jeun" (i want to eat) and she's like "no, i dint ask u kini o fe se?" (what do u want to do?)...i asked kini o fe? and out of nowhere i said ''Mo fe okunrin" (i want a MAN)......
lol......i felt so embarrased........ the whole class started laffing.... and my professor goes "at least Iphy is honest" now people will actually begin to think dat i am desperately seeking a Bobo...... lol.......kai!! me and my big mouth

speaking of yoruba class.....am doing pretty well in that class considering the fact that i am an FBI(full blooded igbo)..... ...wat's with the whole ''oh you look yoruba..so u are an omo igbo??" thing....i've met only a few pple who thot i was igbo at first glance...even my professor thot i was yoruba ..hia!!! odi egwu oh....

wen we had a church youth program in april or so..some youths came from RCCG in san antonio, TX came to the RCCG in my city and dis babe just started speaking random fluent yoruba to me... we saw the cops parked outside church and then she walks up to me and she's like "se olopaa bla bla bla" (those were the only two words i understood) i just looked at her speechless..and she thot i was weird..... wen i say ''my name is iphy'' most times the reply i get is ''so u are igbo??? ahhh..u dont look it''....how the heck does someone look igbo or yoruba or delta or rivers or whatever..hia!!! na wa sha...... haha.....

oh and we had to pick yoruba names.... i picked JUMOKE.....my friend gave me dat name......lol....... i picked it cus dat was the only name dat came to my head at that time....... i dint even kno d meaning..i had to call my mum up and ask her......

i cant afford to fail this class.....its a 5 hour credit course..my GPA depends on this class.....but so far am doing good...... and the class is fun..my professor is a nice jolly woman..reminds me of my mum a lot actually.......

called my mum last week and was asking her for help with my yoruba homework on the phone..... pupsi was with her and he heard me asking her for the meaning of some words.....next thing i hear is him asking my mum "why did you let her take yoruba? don't they offer igbo in her school?....why do u want to take another man's language''
i had to explain dat day ehn...see serious explanation..... u go fear...lol

the thing is they don't offer igbo in my school sef....my school is one of the few universities in yankee that even offer Yoruba .....plus...i dont see the point....i speak igbo fluently and can communicate effectively in igbo..taking igbo (thats if they offered it) woulda been a waste of time..unless am just taking it to have an easy A.....lol
eventually sha pupsi understood.......

he was like "oh well i understand....all the igbo men in the U.S are busy looking for how to do import and export back and forth...so there are probably very few igbo men that will leave their business loving lifestyle and teach igbo in college..." and we laughed about it.... I LOVE MY DADDY... he understands :) and he doesn't see anything wrong in laughing at his own people... :D

P.S my proffessor has a phd in Yoruba linguistics..... like how weird is that??...lol..... i try to understand but i can't..how can u be a yoruba person and then go and do a phd in Yoruba linguistics? ...lol... but at least it pays.......she's teaching in a university and they pay her Good money.....plus she gets to add 'doctor' to her name..lol

maybe i should get a phd in Igbo linguistics oh......this one wey dem dey make money like this....
lol

Odaabo oh (bye)

xx
