SO....because I love my mini 'fro..... here we go.... :) (picture time!! woohoo!!!!!!!)

Ok...so i'll start with a timeline kinda thing...

May '09: Last relaxer before the big chop. done by self. in comfort of self's bedroom. swore never to do that to self again..never!! before then....last relaxer was done sometime in November '08 or so






September '09 : Iphy cuts hair on a boring saturday evening in the comfort of her bathroom with her scissors. Iphy had never cut hair prior to that event, Iphy was scared, she wore a scarf that night bcos she kept looking at herself in the mirror and laffing. lol

October '09:
realized there were still some permed parts of Iphy's hair so decided to cut iphys hair again so it can be one texture.... (having to deal with permed and relaxed hair in one.....annoying!! i tell you)

so iphy chopped chopped chopped again...



November '09:
went to see family for thanksgiving...Aunty was not happy and wanted iphy to look more stylish because aunty said she is young...so aunty convinced iphy to be "stylish" and dye hair a bolder color.. like reddish brown?? so Iphy did that. :)



December '09/ Jan '10:
Iphy went to Nigeria....some family members were distraught. and told Iphy that she should texturize the hair or something.... or she should experiment with it...after all she is young....
Iphy came back to yankee and Aunty from November (see above) tried to get her to do some fantasia/rihanna type thing instead of this "natural thingy"
Iphy said no... :)



February '10:
Iphy's 'fro is bigger!!! woohoo!!! Iphy is beginning to have more confidence in her hair..... Iphy now rocks 'fro to school, church, events, etc.
Iphy learnt new things about 'fro and how to take care of it.... moisturizing techniques and all......








CONCLUSION: Iphy feels FIERCE!!!

Iphy doesn't feel that there is anything bad about permed hair..... Iphy is a nice natural and doesn't think ladies with Permed hair or weaves are fake or trying to be European......
some ignoramus i had a discussion with last year criticized some African women for not being African enough if they have permed hair..... I DISAGREE with statements like that.

My going natural isn't for EMPOWERMENT, ANTI-EUROPEAN/ANTI-WESTERN movement or stuff like that.....

Iphy just likes the way she looks with a reddish brown Afro.

I love all my Natural, relaxed, texturized, bald headed, and weave wearing sisters!!!
HAIR IS BEAUTY... :)
